Meet the Academy pups from Down Home Doodle! What sets us apart from many breeders is our comprehensive socialization and training programs designed to give our puppies the best possible start in life. Our dedicated team includes five full-time trainers who focus exclusively on the development, socialization, and training of our puppies.
If our puppies are not placed by the time they reach eight weeks of age, they begin their structured education in training. This ensures that by the time they are ready for their forever homes, they have already received foundational training, enhancing their adaptability and behavior.
Here, you’ll find excellent opportunities to adopt puppies that have a strong start in their training journey. It’s important to note that the prices reflect the initial training they have received. Additional training beyond what they have already undergone will incur extra costs. We’re committed to ensuring that our puppies not only thrive but also become well-adjusted companions.
Tiny Paws Graduates
The puppies below have successfully completed both our Socialization Program and our Tiny Paws Training Program. In addition to everything included in our Socialization Program, these puppies have completed (or will complete) at least four weeks of foundation training to help make the transition into their new homes even smoother.
Our Tiny Paws Program includes:
* Positive crate training and learning to enter the crate willingly.
* Continued potty training with doggie door exposure.
* Beginning leash skills and confidence walking on a leash.
* Learning the “sit” and “place” commands.
* Positive exposure to stairs and other everyday experiences.
* Foundations for good manners, including reducing jumping, teething, and overexcitement.
* Continued confidence-building through new people, environments, and experiences.
Every puppy learns at their own pace, so their skill level may vary depending on their personality, maturity, and learning style. While these puppies have a strong foundation, they are still young and will continue learning with consistency and practice in their new homes.

Socialization Graduates
The puppies below have successfully completed our Socialization Program. During their extended stay, they’ve benefited from extra time with their littermates while building confidence, learning good habits, and preparing for life in their new homes.
Our Socialization Program includes:
* Positive exposure to the crate
* Beginning potty training using a doggie door
* Daily socialization with people, children, other dogs, and new environments
* Grooming introductions, including brushing, bathing, nail trims, and blow drying
* Exposure to everyday sights, sounds, and experiences
* Foundations for good manners, including reducing jumping, teething, and overexcitement
Additional benefits include:
* At least one additional DHPP booster (depending on age), bringing your puppy closer to being fully vaccinated.
* Better bladder control than a typical 8-week-old puppy, making the transition home easier.
* Extra time to mature emotionally, helping create a confident, well-adjusted companion.
These puppies have not yet begun our Basic Training Program, where they learn obedience commands such as sit, stay, place, leash walking, and recall.
